Carmaker Stelantis said Tuesday that Ned Curick of Amazon Alexa Automotive will become its new chief technology officer to handle all information technology sources across the group.
Curi, currently VP of Alexa Automotive, will begin his term at Stelantis on August 30 and report back to chief government Carlos Tavares, the world’s fourth-largest automaker, as outlined in a press release.
Prior to becoming a member of Amazon in 2017, he previously held several positions at Toyota, including as the government VP of Toyota Related, a technical assistant, managing software program engineers, information scientists and designers.
Tavares, who designed the group’s higher governance following the formation of Stellantis through the merger of Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot maker PSA, said that Curiq is based on its “strategic mobility path, growth and future development”.
“Ned joins us at an excellent time to create Stelantis in the context of the unprecedented transformation of our business,” Tavares noted.
